Getting started
Add residents and link them to units
Record owners and tenants, choose who gets the invoice and who can vote.
ManagersUpdated
Residents don't need an invitation. You add them to their unit with their email address, and they get access to the resident app as soon as they sign up with that same email.
Add a resident
- Step 1: Open Residents in the sidebar and press Add resident (or use the Residents card on a unit's page).
- Step 2: Pick the Unit, enter the Full name and, ideally, the Email and Phone.
- Step 3: Choose the Relationship: Owner or Tenant, and the date they've been there Since.
- Step 4: Decide whether they Receive the invoice and whether they Can vote, then save.
Billing contact and voting rights
- Receives the invoice: the billing contact is shown as "Billed to" on invoices and receives payment reminders. There's one per unit; turning it on for one person turns it off for the others.
- Can vote: lets this person vote and give proxies for the unit. It's on by default; usually owners vote and tenants don't.
- Ownership share lives on the unit, not on the person. Edit the unit to change it.
Portal access
The Portal column shows Account linked once the person has signed up, Invite pending if they have an email but no account yet, or No email. The bar above the list shows how many current residents use the app.
When someone moves out
Edit the resident, switch off Currently lives / owns here and set Moved out on. They stay in the history under "Including former" but lose access to the unit. The unit's status doesn't change automatically, so set it to Vacant if needed.
