Import a bank statement
Upload a CSV from your bank; payments with an invoice number are matched automatically.

Upload and map columns
- Step 1: Go to Payments › Bank import (or press Import bank statement on the payments overview).
- Step 2: Choose a .csv or .txt export from your bank (up to 5 MB). Comma, semicolon and tab separators are detected automatically.
- Step 3: Under Which column holds what?, check Date and Amount (required), and Payer name, Payer account and Reference if your file has them. Most bank headers are recognised automatically.
- Step 4: Use Debit / credit only if amounts have no minus sign. Untick First row is a header if your file starts with data.
- Step 5: Check the preview and press Import N transactions.

How matching works
| What Kelvo Nest finds | What happens |
|---|---|
| An invoice number in the reference or payer name | Payment recorded automatically |
| Payer name of a resident + an exact invoice or debt amount | Suggested, high confidence |
| Payer name of a resident only | Suggested, medium confidence |
| The only open invoice with that amount | Suggested, low confidence |
| Messy reference or name the rules can't place | AI checks it; see AI bank matching |
| Nothing | Waits for you to assign it |
Outgoing payments are listed under Ignored. Rows already imported in an earlier file go to Duplicates, so overlapping statements are safe.
Work through the review queue
- Accept takes the suggestion. Accept high-confidence (≥ 85%) does it in bulk.
- Assign… lets you pick the unit and, optionally, the invoice to pay first.
- Ignore skips a row; Restore brings ignored or duplicate rows back.
- Under Matched, Void undoes a recorded payment and sends the row back to review.
- If nothing from an import was matched yet, Discard import removes it so you can import the file again.
