Getting started
Add buildings, units and meters
Model your property: buildings, the units in them with floor areas, and their meters.
ManagersUpdated
Costs are shared between units, so getting floor areas right matters more than anything else in setup.
Buildings
- Step 1: Open Buildings in the sidebar and press Add building.
- Step 2: Enter a Name (for example "Linden Court 12") and, optionally, the address.
- Step 3: Save. The building's page opens so you can add its units right away.
Units
Add units from the building's page (Add unit) or from Units in the sidebar.
| Field | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Unit number | Required. Shown on invoices and in the resident app. |
| Floor area (m²) | Required. Used by every cost shared "by floor area" and by area-weighted votes. |
| Type | Apartment, Office or Retail. |
| Status | Occupied, Vacant or Maintenance. Adding a resident to a vacant unit marks it occupied. |
| Floor, Entrance | Optional. Entrances let you target announcements at one stairwell. |
| Ownership share | Optional. Used by costs shared "by ownership share" and by share-weighted votes. |
Meters
Open Meters and press Add meter. Choose the building, then either a unit or Common building meter, the meter type, a serial number and the starting reading.
- Unit meters are billed by each unit's own consumption.
- Common meters measure shared use; their cost is split by floor area across the building's units.
- Meter types are fixed: cold water and hot water (m³), electricity (kWh), heat (MWh) and gas (m³).
- Set a meter to Maintenance or Inactive from the status menu in the meters list.
